2008 is Kingston Road United's Centennial Year!  Here is a summary of the activities planned during the year:

January 13:(10:30 a.m.) Native Solidarity Sunday - guest speaker:  Rev. Alan Sinclair - the minister representing the United Church of Canada at "TUNM".

The Toronto Urban Native Ministry (TUNM) is an ecumenical partnership of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Toronto, the Anglican Diocese of Toronto, and the United Church of Canada.

TUMN is dedicated to serving more than 60,000 First Nations people living in the GTA and reflects a long history of Native involvement with the churches.

January 20:(7 p.m.)  A celebration/memorial evening of hymns and readings.  Choose a favourite hymn (please give first, second and third choices), dedicate it in memory or celebration of a person or event, and let us know what it is  by January 13.  Each hymn will cost $10.00 and a receipt for income tax will be issued.  We are looking forward to a wonderful evening.

February 17:(10:30 a.m.) Chaverim Youth Band, a very talented group of young people will be the worship leaders this Sunday.  They were very well received when they visited us in the past.  Children and youth will be invited to remain in the sanctuary for the service.  However, there will be a programme available for those children who wish to leave - particularly the very young.  To find out more about this group, please visit their web-site.

March 2: (10:30 a.m.)  Come and hear the REV. LOIS WILSON, former moderator of the United Church.  She is a fabulous speaker who will have many interesting things to convey.  As Lois has written a book called "Streams of Faith"  which mentions her camping experiences and her connection with C.G.I.T. (Canadian Girls in Training)  the Centennial Committee has asked her to bring copies of her book for people to purchase.  We are also inviting all present and former C.G.I.T. members to attend this very special service.  There will be a luncheon following so that people can speak with Lois and chat with former friends.  PLEASE let us know if you wish to attend the lunch.

Saturday, March 29 (7:30 p.m.) Tanglefoot.  This exciting group will be performing in our sanctuary (975 Kingston Road) and tickets are now on sale.  Price:  $25.00.  For details please visit their web site.  Please send an email request for tickets to tickets@kruc.ca or speak with Lois Maxwell.
