Our Mission

A carved crest, mounted on the pulpit, bears this Latin motto: "Fides. Fraternitas. Missio." (Faith. Fellowship. Mission.) In 1996 a Mission Statement, related to the above, was developed. It was amended in 2005 to reflect our new commitment to being an affirming congregation.  It reads as follows:

Our FAITH in God is defined for us by Jesus Christ Our Saviour.

Our FELLOWSHIP allows us to worship together, share God’s gifts with one another. and nurture one another as we seek to be faithful to God’s will

Our MISSION is to honour God by building a world of peace and justice. We affirm that all who seek to follow Christ regardless of ability, age, ethnicity, gender, race or sexual orientation are welcomed as full participants in the life, membership, ministry and leadership of this congregation. 

The Illuminating Sign

Toronto commuters have a positive response to the illuminated sign at the corner of Scarborough and Kingston Roads, a stop-light intersection that's passed by thousands of vehicles every day. Apart from notices about special events, K.R.U. tries to put a smile on the faces of passing motorists with wordings such as:

• You never get dizzy doing good turns.
• You're a child of God and She loves you.
• Last church before Scarborough.
• Come and have your answers questioned.
• Don't send your parents to church, bring 'em with you!

Unusual Features 

•  We have a four lane bowling alley in our basement!
•  We have a brand new contemporary stained glass window depicting a beautiful inlet in Scotland!
