What: A series of monthly recitals featuring Toronto Symphony Youth Orchestra musicians in brief, informal recitals. Each recital would features different instruments from the orchestra. The full list of names can be found below.
Where: The sanctuary of Kingston Road United Church, 975 Kingston Road. This is the home of the Kingston Road Village Concert Series, (music director Timothy
Dawson, Toronto Symphony Orchestra double bass and TSYO bass coach).
When:
All concerts will be on Sundays. The musician(s) will play the postlude at the end of the church service, then after a short coffee time, return to perform a 30 - 45 minute recital. Start time is approximately11:45 am.
How much:
Pay as you can, suggested donation $5.
Why:
This (essentially) complimentary series would display as many orchestral instruments as possible, affording young musicians a welcoming place to perform. It is also a fantastic place for families to introduce their children to these instruments and extraordinary young performers. After each concert, children in the audience are invited to approach the performers to see and possibly touch the instruments.
